How to treat unwanted hair
Laser Hair Removal
Permanent hair reduction is a great aesthetic treatment to target unwanted hair. Elite’s LHR machine, and some others, are safe for all skin types and can target all colors of hair except gray and extreme blonde. A series of 6-10 treatments is recommended based on the individuals concerns, the area, and the color of the hair. Touch up treatments may be needed every so often to maintain results.
Dermaplane
Dermaplaning is another option for temporary removal of unwanted hair on the face. Typically, vellus hair (peach fuzz) on the face is not appropriate for laser hair removal, so a dermaplane facial is a great alternative treatment option. This facial involves the use of a medical-grade scalpel to safely remove the vellus hair without any downtime or pain. The hair does eventually grow back, so monthly facials are recommended to maintain results.
**if any of the facial hair is coarse or dark, LHR is a safe option
Waxing with Epilfree
If an individual does not meet the criteria of a LHR candidate, it is recommended to start waxing treatments with Epilfree. This is a safe and effective alternative of permanent hair reduction. Epilfree is a two-step serum application that is applied to the treated area after waxing. This treatment slows down and inhibits the regrowth of unwanted body hair. It is proven to work on any gender, ages 12+ and it’s effective for blonde, gray, and vellus hair (or peach fuzz). A series of 8-12 treatments are needed to see best results.
*Of Note*
Unwanted hair can be a side effect of an internal condition that may need attention from a medical professional. Ensure you go to a trained medical professional to get a proper diagnosis first, as some of the root issues of unwanted hair are life long. Even though LHR and waxing with Epilfree can permanently reduce unwanted hair, if an individual is struggling with a hormonal imbalance or other issues, the treatments will not be as effective.
